docLinkr 3.0 Update

on Wednesday, 17 April 2013. Posted in News, Release

This week we have released an update for the Configuration database (build 202), the Connector database (build 246) for docLinkr 3.0 and for the native app (3.0.18). For Android the update is available now, in the Apple App Store the update should be available in a few days.

You may update the app and the docLinkr databases in any order you like. The docLinkr templates are available for download from our website. Please don't forget to set the agent in the Config db and to sign both databases again.

Besided minor bugs which have been fixed, there are the following changes:

- In the Connector document of the Configuration database is it now possibe to configurate whether the downloaded attachments via the native app should be deleted automatically after a certain number of days (the download date is critical). If you use this setting, we recommend you to inform your user so that they are not surprised.

- Custom icons can now be pasted as base64 code, too. The advantage is that transparency in icons would not get lost. A converter (image to base64) is available online e.g.: http://www.base64-image.de/

- For Android: For editable date fields the date will be changed via a datepicker now. The datepicker opens when you click on the date field.

docLinkr 3.0 Update

on Thursday, 28 March 2013. Posted in News, Release

Today we have released an update for the Configuration database (build 201), the Connector database (build 245) for docLinkr 3.0 and for the native app (3.0.16). For Android the update is available now, in the Apple App Store the update should be available in the next 7 days.

You may update the app and the docLinkr databases in any order you like. The docLinkr templates are available for download from our website. Please don't forget to set the agent in the Config db and to sign both databases again.

Besides minor bugs which have been fixed, there are the following changes:

- For applications, databases und data sources you can now configure your custom icons (small images). To do that change the icon setting from "Standard" to "Custom", then paste your own icon as an inline image. There is no further validation of the properties of the icon, but we recommend to paste the icon with a size of 128x128 pixel. The app will display the icon depending in the device in the sizes 128x128, 64x64 or 48x48. The app supports this feature from version 3.0.16.

Information: Please note that your custom icons are not saved when you export a configuration.

- In the Connector-document there is a new setting called "Wildcard search (*)" which is set to "Yes" by default. This means that when you search in a view in the app, a wildcard search will be executed. So if, for example, the user searches for "car" it will be automatically searched for "car*".

- Rich-text will be displayed formatted, even if it technically not already a rich text. This can happen e. g. when you receive an e-mail, which was not sent by Notes.

You can now also download a Samples database, which already contains documents, and an optimized docLinkr configuration for this database, in our download area.

When you have imported the docLinkr configuration (docLinkr Samples.txt) into your Config Database, you only have to add the Samples Database to the newly created application and release the application. If you want to create and edit documents with the native app then you have to add in the data sources of the forms "Company" and "Contact" an editor and author right document.

We are delighted to announce the release of version 3.0 of docLinkr.

What offers the solution overall:

  • Native app for iOS and Android
  • Simple connection to all existing Lotus Notes applications
  • Configuration instead of programming
  • Multilanguage support

Doclinks in the mobile app

on Thursday, 15 November 2012. Posted in News

All doclinks in a richtext field are displayed with an additional text link "Open doclink".  Clicking on the link will work as long as:

a) the target database has been configured with docLinkr and
b) the target document has had a form configured for it in docLinkr

The form that is configured in docLinkr must have the same name as the form in the properties of the Notes document.

By default all configured forms in docLinkr are enabled for doclinks, but you can disable it for each form if you prefer.

Please note that this feature is only designed to work in the mobile app.  It will not work in the desktop app (which is only normally used for testing purposes anyway).
